Floor Seated Dinner and Boho Tablescape

Boho / Festival Theme Party TablescapeFloor Seated Boho TablescapeBoho Tablescape

This floor seated dinner set up was perfect with the boho theme going on. Here are the different elements I used to create this tablescape:

The low table I actually re-purposed some old wide wood planks from our garage that had an old loft. You can get inexpensive plywood at home depot or you could get nicer boards and stain. Since the theme of the party was on the rusti side I thought all the character of these wood planks would be extra character so I didnt want to cover with a table cloth.  We simply attached some scrap wood for legs at the ends and center to make the appropriate height. The boards themselves were about 15 inches wide and 15 feet long and we left about a 1/2 inch gap in between the two boards.

Blankets and Pillow:

The two end full/queen gray blankets are actually a great deal from Walmart for about $15 each. The center gray blanket is a goodwill find that I use for picnics and keep in my car (you never know when you may need a blanket to enjoy a beautiful park or sunset). The serape Mexican blankets are beautifully woven sized at 4×6′ in quite a lot of colors to choose from and pretty budget friendly at Amols and added some colors to make the seating more lively and laid back. You could of course pulls some rugs and blankets from your house if you dont mind. Having 4 dogs I own very litle rugs so decided inexpensive blankets were the way to go and easily washed. Lastly the fun pillows were a mix of a few from the house, the Walmart clearance section and two were made from left over fabric made from the teepee

Table Decor:

  • For the Greenery I simply clipped a few branches from my wigela bush in the garden and stuck them into the gap in between the two boards, willow branches would look nice but whatever greenery you can forage is inexpensive and adds to the more organic and simple look.
  • The gold chargers are an amazing deal very cost effective from The Dollar Tree, I think especially with having no table cloth is added a little something.
  • The votive candles are a mix of these beautiful gold mercury from amazon and some clear fluted ones that I scored at goodwill.
  • The mini lanterns were inexpensive from Amazon and go with almost any decor so you will definetly use them over and over.
  • The napkins were home made and a DIY project using this fun and colorful Tula Pink Chipper Fox Nap Sorbet fabric.
  • The Gold flatware was an inexpensive set found gently used on ebay

Lights and Lanterns:

If you happen to have some string lights or lanterns that you can hang from a tree or some poles I think it not only adds some mood lighting for your dinner but also really adds to the mood of the whole dinner. These are all from amazon and buget friendly and battery operated making them super easy to bring anywhere.

I hope these tips help you make your own boho inspired dinner that wows your guests without breaking the bank.
