Galentine’s Blush Pink Brunch Decorations

For any of you that have watched Parks and Recs, you may recall the episode about Galentine’s Day being February 13th to celebrate the ladies in your life. Here’s a clip of the show where Leslie describes what Galentine’s Day is all about.

Galentine’s day is the 13th which fell on a Monday this year, so I decided to host a late Galentine’s day Sunday Brunch with a neutral palette of creams and light pinks. The neutral blush decor with brunch would also work great for a bridal shower or baby shower as well. Here’s a break down of all the decorations for this day time get together.

Adventure Themed First Birthday

The adventure comes to an end as I share the last of this adorable adventure themed first birthday. The drink table had this beautiful framed art from the Etsy store Artsy Type Shop that really tied the theme together, how like many couples I’m sure, becoming parents has been this couples greatest adventure. This was hung with frame command strips to not damage the walls for this temporary art. Below shows photos if this little

1 Year Adventure Themed Birthday, The Photo Wall

The adventure continues with another post on this first year adventure birthday. If you missed the previous post on the tablescape for this party click here to see how old childrens novels, mini globes and compasses were used to tie in the theme . This post is all about the photo area and how to DIY this back drop to create some memorable photos for everyone at your party. I used an adorable adventure themed fabric hanging on an empty wall in a fun blue that coordinated with the table, with these DIY to well known storybook places in front of

1 Year Adventure Themed Birthday, The Table

I think first year birthdays are just the sweetest. You can have fun with some adorable themes, look back at how immensely little ones have grown, and watch their little fingers get into all that frosting on their cake. Close friends were celebrating their son’s first birthday (could he be an cuter), with a small family gathering that I offered to help put together the decorations for. Like most parents I’m sure, they felt their first year of parenthood and watching their son grow had been their greatest adventure and wanted to encourage their son to have many adventures of his own, so this became the theme. I loved the idea of adventure theme perfect for a little boy and it slowly evolved into encouraging all kinds of exploring from the world we live in, to imagination through books and reading. I want to share with you all the

Free Prosecco Blackberry Cocktail Printable

I’m almost ready for New Years Eve which is my favorite occasion to host since its the only time there is no limit to the amount of sparkle and glitter you can/should use. No New years Eve gathering is complete without a little bubbly, so I decided to try this Blackberry Thyme Champagne Cocktail recipe from Style Me Pretty to serve to my guests. I haven’t tried it but seems there is no way it could be bad. I’m using prosecco and feel it’s more commonly used, but I plan on making the flavored syrup earlier in the day and placing out with all the ingredients including some frozen blackberries as garnish and to help keep drinks cold.  Generally I set up a bar section for gatherings that are self service with one or two pre-made cocktails, as well as beer and wine. If things need to be mixed or combined I like to have a little display picture that makes it easy for each guest to help themselves. If this a cocktail you would like to use for any of your parties here is a free printable that labels the drink and shows your guest what to add. There are two sizes of 4×6 or 5×7  so  you can cut and place in a frame you have already. More details to come of our get together I’m planning in case you need some inspiration.

DIY Cornstarch Ornaments as Name Place Cards

I love the idea of salt dough for ornaments and hand print crafts but have found that its a little more porous and not quite as smooth, so I decided to try this recipe for cornstarch dough when making these ornaments. I made these ornaments as place cards for my work Christmas Party. These ornaments are inexpensive to make so its cost effective when making quite a few and can be painted and decorated anyway that fits your decor with any personalization you want. They also make great little take home gifts.
