Make Ahead Crock Pot Slider Bar Menu

For dinner for a  larger group I love this Crockpot Slider Menu, featuring three kinds of sliders with toppings and three sides. Here are the recipes and things I made for an easy dinner that everyone is sure to love and also made in advance and easily set out for dinner so you can spend time with your guests when they arrive and not in the kitchen.

Menu:

BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders with Coleslaw

Buffalo Chicken Sliders with Blue Cheese Dressing

Meatball Marinara with Slices of Cheddar Cheese

Chipotle and Cheddar Chopped Salad

Jalepeno Corn Salad

Lemon Asparagus Orzo

  • BBQ Pullled Pork Sliders – Basically you make pulled pork with a recipe of your liking, either the day before or that day and shred and add to crockpot with your favorite BBQ sauce and in  your crockpot set to warm just before guests arrive so when your ready to put out the meal just carry the crockpot out and put out coleslaw as a topping. If you dont make pulled pork there are a ton of recipes online. If its a smaller group you can throw a pork tenderloin or two with some sauce and chicken stock and cook on low for 6-8 hours then shred and add sauce. We have a smoker and use an inexpensive 8-10lb Pork Picnic cut and smoke it during the day and time it to be done about an hour before the party to shred and throw in the crockpot.
  • Buffalo Chicken Silders –  To save myself some time I bought 3 rotisserie chickens from the grocery store and shredded the day before and put in the fridge, then an hour before the party I added the shredded chicken to the crockpot with buffalo sauce  on low to warm up and mixed occasionally, put a bottle of your favorite blue cheese dressing next to it for toppings. You could also cook a few chicken breasts or thighs in the crockpot with some sauce and stock on low for 3-6 hrs depending how much chicken you have then shred, and add sauce.
  • Meatball Marinara –  I tend to mix homemade with premade to made entertaining easier/cheaper. For this I bought premade frozen meatballs and put in the crockpot frozen with a jar of your favorite marinara. I put on high for 1- 2 hours depending on how many you have, mix occasionally then put to warm when warmed through. If you have the time or love making meatballs by all means make your own meatballs the day before, put in the fridge and warm up in the crockpot with sauce, set out with cheddar cheese slices and your set. I found the cracker barrell pre cut app small app cheeses make it really easy since they are pre cut slider sized.
  • Chipotle and Cheddar Chopped Salad – This one is super easy because it’s a prebought salad kit from Dole! Super easy just set everything in a bowl and dress just before serving.
  • Jalepeno Corn Salad – It’s a great recipe from Dinner and Dessert, its easy to prepare earlier that day or day before and is delicious.
  • Lemon Asparagus Orzo – Another easy recipe found on Tasy Kitchen submitted by Barbara Adams that can be made in advance, I suggest though if you are making ahead that you dress with 2/3 of the dressing when making then dress with the last 1/3 just before serving to jazz it up.
