Kentucky Derby Party
The run for the roses is only a few days away and I’m excited to pull out a big hat and some bourbon. To help get in the spirit of the derby I decided to include a little friendly wager among friends by making some printables that I wanted to share with you for your own Derby Party. I have created four printable sheets, the first being a betting sheet where guests can write their name to enter their bets, a blank betting sheet if you want to fill in yourself, and two other pages list a little information on all 20 horses to help everyone decide who to bet on if they aren’t familiar with the horses. All the information and images are from KentuckyDerby.com but its nice to have everything together that’s easy to display.
 
Betting
I wanted betting rules to be easy so I decided that each person can give an set bet amount to place a bet on a horse by writing their name next to the horses name. Any guest can make bets by horses name. Any guest can make multiple bets on the same horse by writing a number next to their name or on multiple horses by writing their name next to multiple horses. The winnings is then divided by the names of the first place horse, which multiple bets getting that percentage of winnings. Feel free to create your own rules if you want to divide the winning between first, second and third place horses.
 
Printing Your Printables
Once you have downloaded the PDF you can print the pages at your local print shop. These printables are meant to be printed at 18×24″ and printing smaller will make the information too small to read. I print mine at Staples as Colored Engineer Prints, which is inexpensive and let’s me print all 3 pages for about $10 instead of more expensive poster prints. The betting sheet can be printed on regular sheets of paper to make it easier to right on.

      Thank you for your interest in my printables! Unfortunately they haven’t narrowed down the final 20 horses yet for the derby. This is done a few days before the Derby and as soon as the final horses are announced I will be posting the new updated 2018 printables on the site and if you have joined our newsletter an email with the links will be directly sent as soon as they are available.       Thank you for your interest! At the moment they have not narrowed down the final 20 horses. This does not happen until a few days before the Derby. I apologize I’m unable to get the 2018 printables sooner as they don’t narrow down the final 20 horses until a few days before the derby but if you sign up for the newsletter you will get them in your inbox as soon as they are available or check back on the site. Staples should be able to print them same day on foam core or poster prints for your tournament. Thank you!

    I’m so glad you are interested in the printables. Unfortunately, I am not able to make the printables for 2019 until a few days before the Derby when they are down to the final 20 Horses.   9. Are you able to supply printable from past Kentucky Derby’s? I am hosting this theme at our family vacation this summer so I need to use one from the past but I don’t want the most recent so people won’t be that familiar with the winning name.

      I apologize as I do not have the saved files from previous derbies besides 2018. If you submit your email for the printables you will receive the 2018 printables. If you are getting together this summer it will be past the 2019 derby and by then your family may have forgotten about the 2018 horses and win. Enjoy your family vacation!
