Surprise Simple Garden Birthday Party
This garden party was to celebrate a dear friend turning 30. My co-hosts; her husband and a friend, planned a day of relaxing with pedicures and a movie that ended with this surprise party. We thought it would be a wonderful way to celebrate this expecting mom who loves to garden. I was so glad we were able to surprise her. The party was held in the beautiful garden of my friend and cohost. This made a picturesque setting for an outdoor summer soiree for this lovely lady.

Lanterns and Lights
These paper lanterns add funny happy colors. I bought them inexpensively on Amazon and can be folded and reused for other gatherings. There were already some plugged in string lights that were
What’s a Pop Up Party
I can’t believe it has taken me so long to post this fun summer pop up party. Summer just flies by so quickly here in Connecticut that I’ve been trying to make the most of it. Most of the summer entertaining has not made it to the blog yet but before the weather gets too cool, I wanted to share this fun, birthday pop up party. For those of you who have never heard the term of a pop up party, it basically means throwing a party in a random location, often a public place. In many ways it can be a glorified picnic. This party was held in a local park on the river. The menu consisted of all items served cold or room temperature that was made in advance which makes for easy hosting. I love the idea of a party in an unexpected location and being able to enjoy different views and spots your local community has to offer. Here is how we made this pop up party to celebrate a dear friend’s 30th birthday a casual yet special celebration.
Pop Up Party Location
When choosing a location there are many factors to consider and some depends how large of a group you have. Larger parties will require more space so find a park with ample room that isn’t too busy. It’s good to scope out your location before the party on a typical day that you plan hosting. For example, if you’re hosting your party on a Saturday go there on a typical Saturday for an hour before and for the duration you plan on being there. You don’t want to go on a Wednesday, see it’s empty and quiet only to go on a Saturday and find its packed and you can’t find a spot. I have made this mistake
Woodland Birthday Party Theme, One is Wonderful
This Woodland Birthday Party was for the perfect first birthday party theme for my beautiful niece Delphine. I adore the decorations, they are so sweet and would a great baby shower theme too. I loved putting everything together. A Fun, feminine color scheme with oranges, pinks and touches of turquoise and gold. Girly and soft without being overly loud. It all started when I was shopping at Target and came across a sheet set with woodland animals in flower crowns (as you can see from the photo backdrop). Instantly I fell in love with the idea of it being a party theme. A boho, nature vibe that
What better way to celebrate a joint 2nd and 5th birthday then a fun and vibrant carnival party. This carnival party has colorful decorations and games, keeps kids entertained, and great for all ages. This time of year makes use of a yard or park with outdoor activities and room to run around an ideal
These past weekends I was able to celebrate many amazing birthdays, but right now I want to share this 30th birthday backyard beer tasting party with you. This beer tasting party was to celebrate our wonderfully kind and thoughtful friend Mick turning thirty. With all these local breweries popping up what better way then asking guests to bring a growler of their favorite local beer. This party we had guests that were widespread in location, so it was great trying beers from breweries you may not get to try. I also made free printables at the bottom of this post so you can have your own backyard beer tasting party. Thanks to the help of my co-hosts, another couple and Mick’s girlfriend, I think we pulled off a pretty great surprise party.
Tasting Directions for Guests
As part of my free printables (at the end of this post) there are directions to print for a 8×10″ frame telling guests how to participate in the beer tastings. Guests are to write the information of the
This first birthday comes to a close with a cake smash in front of a Peter Rabbit inspired photo backdrop. Watching this little guy enjoy his cake smash will bring a smile to anyone’s face. The icing on the cake is his adorable outfit made by his grandmother. The garden crown was made by his mother, check out her felt etsy shop for baby banners and wall art. For such a momentous occasion like this first birthday its always great to give everyone a chance to make some memories and take some photos, especially at cake time. This photo wall was easy to make withcarrot fabric, and Peter Rabbit

Spring is officially here and I could not be more excited. After days of white snow and lifeless trees, seeing some spring inspiration, promising gardening and green is just what I like to see. The adventure comes to an end as I share the last of this adorable adventure themed first birthday. The drink table had this beautiful framed art from the Etsy store Artsy Type Shop that really tied the theme together, how like many couples I’m sure, becoming parents has been this couples greatest adventure. This was hung with frame command strips to not damage the walls for this temporary art. Below shows photos if this little
The adventure continues with another post on this first year adventure birthday. If you missed the previous post on the tablescape for this party click here to see how old childrens novels, mini globes and compasses were used to tie in the theme . This post is all about the photo area and how to DIY this back drop to create some memorable photos for everyone at your party. I used an adorable adventure themed fabric hanging on an empty wall in a fun blue that coordinated with the table, with these DIY to well known storybook places in front of
